Drive to Success: Kenneth Miles

Kenneth Miles, Assistant Vice Chancellor/Executive Director for Academic Affairs, spoke to Louisiana Scholastic Press Association at Louisiana State University. Miles considers himself an educator and to “Be a man for others.”

With his philosophy, Miles and his team were able to push athletes to push themselves and improve their study skills to receive an outstanding education.

Louisiana State University football graduation success rate went up from 54 percent to 70 percent.

“The inequalities in our society inspires me to do what I do.” explained Miles.

Miles drive to improve education amongst athletes comes from his mother. His mother strongly encourage Miles to maintain an education. Miles believes the key to success is to be authentic, reflective, aware, empathetic, and to, most importantly, continue education.
